Bulawayo walks into the Zimdancehall game

BY public demand Bulawayo local artist have gone an extra mile to venture into the ruling music genre at the moment which is Zimdancehall. Ricco Andrews who recently released a Zimdancehall track in Ndebele called S’dudla has released its breath taking video directed by Tinashe Rodrick.
There have been so many outcries all over the country on why Bulawayo is isolated from the Zimdancehall arena whilst the all parts of the country are so interested and participating in the genre.
Bulawayo is already showing so much potential and ability to compete in Zimdancehall against the kings of the genre such as Seh Calaz and Soldier Love. Well known influential artists in Zimdancehall such as Templeman have seen the potential of Bulawayo Ndebele Zimdancehall in the industry too.
One of the best Dancehall songs from Bulawayo S’dudla which Andrews the artist behind the hit in an interview with Sunday Leisure said the song is not directed to the literal meaning of the Ndebele word Isidudla which refers to fat women but to all the women whose men are proud of.
“In the song I redefined S’dudla and in this case if u have a beautiful girl and you are very proud of her then she is your S’dudla” he said.
The magnificent official video of S’dudla was launched at the Rainbow Cinemas and a countless number of fans were available to witness the launch. The video has a beach, pool party nature with curvy women roaming around and an impressive video quality.
The video was directed by Rodrick who is well known by the name OkamaSkhosanA in the video industry in collaboration with Victors and Creative Pot to come out with the masterpiece video.
Rodrick said that his aim is to produce more videos of that kind and to show a different side of Zimdancehall to the country.
“Bulawayo has been making efforts to be part of Zimdancehall and it is high time we show our ability to also dominate in the genre” he said.
More Bulawayo based artists have produced amazingly great Zimdancehall songs for example the song Qubela Ses’Hamba by an artist only identified as Ndebele King which has gone viral on the internet unfortunately Bulawayo has and is still suffering a deficiency of airplay and promoters nationally.
Andrews also took part in the clash of the Dancehall Kings which was held in Bulawayo at Palace gardens and also performed at the Cassper Nyovest show…..
