Winky D face 10 year UK ban for fraud

Winky D face 10 year UK ban for fraud

Dancehall chanter Winky D whose real name is Wallace Chirumiko faces a 10-year ban from the United Kingdom for allegedly swindling $27 000 from England-based Zimbabwean promoter Luther Pakazvakavambwa.
The artist is suspected to have also been blacklisted from performing in Australia.
According to Sunday Mail, Pazvakavambwa said he could not let Winky D and his management “walk scot-free” after inflicting such financial injuries on his company.
“I paid £2 800 for work permits, £1 500 for visas, £9 800 on air tickets, £1 200 for accommodation and his performance fee of £4 475 plus other minor but related costs. This is not money that one can just let go.
“Only a fool would invest so much money and time only to mess up at the last minute. These guys missed the flight for reasons best known to themselves . . . Winky D should know that before he engages any UK promoter he must fulfil these shows he missed with us,” said Pazvakavambwa.
Pazvakavambwa said his lawyers had already engaged the UK Border Agency and that Winky D faces a lengthy ban from performing in the UK and other EU countries.
However, Winky D’s manager accused Pazvakavambwa of using fraudulent tickets.
“Check the documents that he sent you – they are not in order. Some of the tickets were cancelled; you can get the reference numbers and get confirmation from the airlines,” said Bartholomew Vera.

Macheso’s ex Manager refuses to vacate offices!

Macheso’s ex Manager refuses to vacate offices!
Written by Sunday Mail
ALICK MACHESO’s long-serving manager William Tsandukwa, who was fired from his job earlier this month, is now an ordinary band member at Orchestra Mberikwazvo.
Macheso confirmed the development in a rare telephone interview with The Sunday Mail Leisure last week.
Tsandukwa was Macheso’s band manager since 1998 when the sungura maestro broke away from his mentor, Nicholas Zakaria. He is reportedly refusing to vacate office.
This is despite clear indications that his services are no longer required at the popular sungura outfit. Macheso and Tsandukwa are at loggerheads over alleged abuse of funds by the latter.
Consequently, the sungura musician affectionately known as Baba Sharo, has responded by demoting the manager to an ordinary band member making him, if it were in politics, an ordinary card carrying party member.
Tsandukwa, who is also known as Yellow, no longer has the powers that he used to wield. Surprisingly, he is refusing to stop interfering with the group’s affairs despite boasting on numerous occasions that he has other superior interests apart from Orchestra Mberikwazvo.
To date, Tsandukwa still claims to be running affairs for the revered sungura musician. This is despite Macheso coming out in the open declaring that he is now managing his own affairs.
The revered musician has even changed the security systems at their Aquatic Complex offices to keep out the former band manager. But insiders revealed that Tsandukwa is not deterred by the developments.
Rather, the sources say, he is clinging on as he claims to have a stake in the band. Reports are that Tsandukwa is the one who bailed out Macheso when he was hopeless and broke after his squabbles with Madzibaba.
But in an interview last week, the sungura supreme argued that he enlisted the services of Tsandukwa after he already got his footing.
“I started this group (Orchestra Mberikwazvo) alone but later gave responsibilities to others. However, in doing business there comes a time when the assigned tasks become bigger for the trusted individual(s). As the owner, you are then supposed to take bold decisions and relieve them of their duties,” said Macheso.
“Tsandukwa is there but not in his previous capacity. He can no longer guide the band; instead I’m telling him what to do just like any other band member.” The sungura musician said he only had room for people that value the group’s principles. And his old management, he noted, were found wanting in that regard.
“Others have extra activities which certainly mean they do not have my interests at heart and will not be serious in executing their duties. Divided attention is never good for any business. The band is mine. People come to listen to me sing and watch me on stage. The manager does not sing or write songs so he changes nothing,” said Macheso. He added: “It is only me who knows what I need; therefore, I discovered that driving alone is better. Being led by a blind man is dangerous. He will throw you off the bridge and you will have no one to blame but yourself.”
In a previous interview with Tsandukwa, he tried to downplay the nasty fallout. He instead accused the media and some perceived “misguided elements” within Orchestra Mberikwazvo for plotting his downfall.
In the same interview, Tsandukwa made it clear that his roots are firmly anchored in the outfit and he is therefore going nowhere. “You are very lucky I have granted you this interview, I have resorted to just letting you guys write what you want. It is only in the media that I have been fired from Orchestra Mberikwazvo. I’m still responsible for booking shows for Macheso and managing the group’s accounts including salaries. In fact, I’m just coming from doing so,” said Tsandukwa. “Do you think Macheso can talk to promoters and organize shows?” asked Tsandukwa rhetorically. “They only talk to me. That man (Macheso) does not even have a phone. How then do you expect him to deal with promoters?” he added.
However, efforts to get a comment from him this time around proved futile. He hung up and switched off his phone when contacted by this publication. Up to this time, Macheso had never spoken badly about Tsandukwa in public.

Methius and Gift dilemama goes on

Mathias Mhere is targeting my wife says Gift who ‘cheated” with Mhere’s wife!

Controversial gospel musician Gift Mahlupeka has taken a dig at fellow gospel musician Mathias Mhere on Facebook and accused him of peddling rumors with his wife.
Through the Facebook post, Gift insisted that he never cheated with Mhere’s wife and accused the later of destroying his marriage for fame.
“Yeah they have started again, now hanzi my better half is now paralyzed kkkkkkkkkkk. Handidzore tsvimbo; am singing for the glory of God not for fame yet they are destroying their marriages for fame. I thought they sacrificed my life zvikakwana, vasiye varonge. My sweetheart is not paralyzed as they want her to. You can persecute my flesh but as long as my heart pumps, I will carry on. luv u ol mwaaaa. remember ukasimudzwa nenyika ndiyo ichakuwisira pasi,” posted Gift on Facebook.
Gift is infamous for being implicated in an adultery scandal by Mhere who accused him of dating his wife in a story that rocked the gospel music industry a couple of months ago. Gift said he will continue singing for the Lord despite attacks to his reputation.
“Hapana chokumirira, they can persecute to the last but kana vasati vabata mweya wangu I will sing for the Lord. As for the Mhere issue, I have decided that I will not comment anymore,” he said.
Word has gone round alleging that Gift’s wife had a stroke, claims which he dismissed. He also took to social networking website Facebook to register his displeasure, suspecting that the Mhere camp could be the one spreading the rumor.
“My wife is fine. She never stroked as they are saying. It is painful that someone wishes for the ailment of someone but I’m happy she is fine. I know he is the one saying my sweetheart stroked but Mwari wandonamata mukuru, she cannot be paralyzed because someone wants her to be,” he wrote.
When reached for comment, Mathias Mhere said he heard about Gift’s Facebook post but said he is not following it.
“I have heard that he posted something on Facebook. He even sang about it (his response to the adultery scandal) in his song but I can no longer comment about it. This is something that happened some time back and I’m no longer following it,” said the Favour hit maker.
Despite the Facebook post, Gift also said he will not comment about Mhere anymore, insisting that he is focusing on his career. He released a song titled Simudzwa naJesu after the scandal with Mhere and he was explaining himself in the song. The controversial musician who reportedly has a pending rape scandal with the police further claimed that he never cheated with Mhere’s wife, Susan Dzinamarira. He said Mhere was fabricating the issue for fame in a bid to market his latest album, Glory to Glory.
“I am an artiste and a minister of the word. After a terrible life experience I learnt something. So as an artiste I had to share the lesson with others,” he said.

Soul Jah Love
Controversial yet-talented dancehall chanter Soul Jah Love is set to prove that away from the controversies he has what it takes to charm fans across genre divides.
The musician will share the stage with Afro-Jazz sensation Alexio Kawara at the Zimbabwe Germany Society tonight at the weekly “Kuchina Reloaded” concert.
This is the second time that the venue will be hosting a Zimdancehall artiste after Sniper performed there early this year.
At “Kuchina Reloaded”, Alexio invites and shares the stage with musicians of various genres.
Alexio, through his manager Farirai Chavura, said they are looking forward to a great and unique show.
“This Thursday’s show is going to be a different one in the sense that there will be two different musicians – different in every aspect – who will be on one stage and also the venue has not hosted an artiste of Soul Jah Love’s calibre.
“We once had Sniper, a dancehall artist, but many would agree with me that these two are different despite being in the same genre, so we are looking forward to a great exciting show,” she said.

Chavura added that Soul Jah Love is one of Alexio’s favourite dancehall artistes and people should come expecting a lot of surprises from the “Shaina” hit maker.

Meanwhile, Soul Jah Love who assured to honour Alexio’s invitation promised fireworks.
“This is the first time that I am going to be performing at the Zimbabwe Germany Society and I am calling upon all Zimdancehall lovers to come in their numbers and witness Chibaba (as he is popularly known) sharing stage with Alexio.
“We have a lot lined up for the night and we will play old and new songs,” he said.
Alexio rebranded his ZGS Thursday performances which were popularly known as “KuChina” to “KuChina Reloaded” where he engages musicians of different genres to spice up his slot. -The Herald
